Tait Wilman (she, her) is a settler’s maker based in southern Ontario, Tait has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from Alberta University of the Arts and a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo. Tait is was born and raised in Alberta and spent her holidays in a 400 square foot cabin in the woods on the West Coast of British Columbia - this explained her love of “Western” imagery.
In her self-driven practice, and in her work with brands, she explores the intersection of identity, nature and humour.
Tait works in several disciplines, including illustration, sculpture, embroidery, video, woodworking, printmaking, carpentry, and metalwork. During the day Tait works as a Red Seal Carpenter.
She currently has an obsession with toads wearing tiny cowboy hats, is an avid pie maker and vintage shopper, and hopes to one day have a pet cow and duck.
