Search Party

Search Party was the end result of my thesis research in taking shape as a gallery exhibition and written thesis. Search Party is an installation and video exploration of identity ­­– how it is constructed, consumed, and what role the landscape plays in the Canadian identity. In attempting to confront my disorientation with moving to Ontario from Alberta I developed an alter ego, the City Cowgirl. The creation of sculpture installations and consumables was my way of exploring this discomfort. I create using unconventional materials such as Styrofoam, oven baked clay, plasma cut steel, along with performance to video, and wood.
